What really makes using social media tools exciting are the connections I’ve made with innovators around the world--educators, students, company leaders, corporate change agents, and entrepreneurs.
Toronto-based life-long learners will want to have on their radar screens the new Innovation and Entrepreneur certificate now being offered by the University of Toronto, and taught by Walter Derzko, a seasoned innovation consultant and blogger of two popular reads The Smart Economy and Entrepreneurship and Innovation Today. Be sure to send me an update if you attend what looks to be an excellent series.
A New Delhi professional pursuing her Ph.D in Corporate Entrepreneurship from Amity University asked me a few months back if I would
serve as her mentor, once again proving the power of social media, as Heena learned about me through my blog coverage of TiEcon 2007.
Amity University is hosting this years TiE Entrepreneurial Summit 2007 being held December 11 -13 at the Taj Palace Hotel, New Delhi.
Sharing a passion for innovation and the critical role we believe corporate entrepreneurship will play in an increasingly competitive global landscape; Heena and I now connect regularly and are hoping that my 2008 visit to the university will include a workshop on Responsible Risktaking.
It's exciting to see the next generation of global movers and shakers and their innovative approaches to business, or as Walter Derzko so aptly puts it, "Changing the world, one idea at a time".
